This is a standard fly that should be in everyone's box. It represents a variety of hoppers and has come through for me countless times over the years in different states - 'When in doubt, throw on an elk hair hoppers'

I'm new to fly fishing don't really know how the numbers work didn't realize the fly was so big. I'm assuming the larger the number the smaller the fly?? Looks like a quality fly though.

The flies at the local big box store are no where near the high quality of this fly - works great

They worked immediately to catch 4 trout on the first day I used them. Elk hair hoppers for the win

This fly has gotten it done time and time again on virtually every Western stream I have ever tried it on. During the time that I was militarily stationed near Utah and fished there regularly, I can't even field a safe guess on just how many fish fell for this elk hair hopper. It's fairly easy to spot in the current and attracts trout of all types. You can't go wrong!

Quality of fly is good, used this elk hair hopper for bluegill a couple times so far. It catches fish and is holding up.

Looking forward to using my new flies come trout season. I have found that Zinger Fishing's flies are the best.

I have purchased this ELK HAIR HOPPER before, works like it should !

I will have to wait a couple of months before heading to a local stream, but I'm sure that the wait will be worth the time. Each of the flies I purchased are examples of excellent skill and attention to detail.

The elk hair hopper is my favorite hopper pattern hands down

there is nothing funner than watching a big brown strike an elk hair hopper off the surface of the water. awesome fly pattern

The elk hair hopper works great when the grasshoppers are out.

I always keep a good number of these guys in my box. Great quality and value from zinger fishing
Yun S.
don't let my buddies know i didn't tie this myself !

I like these on High Sierra lakes. Cast out, wait 10-15 seconds, kind of cool to see the water explode as a trout ambushes its unwitting prey. Have used these with a tenkara rod too.

Amazing terrestrial for just about any fish species. Smaller for panfish, bigger for big bass and trout. Great hot summer day fly. When the fish are sluggish this will get them to move!
Rahul O.
This is a well tied, ELK hair hopper. There is in detail, presentation in the tied legs. Top tier quality. You could use this as a small popper to get attention.
Allen R.
Great terrestrial for summer and fall in Virginia streams.
William K.
good first impression of the items purchased. looking forward to using them
Zhao H.
This is one of my favorite hopper patterns. The bluegill love them. The legs could have been tied better but these flies seems to hold up well.

I had yet to fly-fish for trout. I only had expirience in lakes. I got the Dave's hopper at ZINGER FISHING durring the summer. terrestrials where everywhere when we went to the river. Needless to say, I caught my first trout on this fly. Best thrill and challenge.

When the hopper and cricket populations peak, this is just the ticket.

Caught some fish, seems to work. Floats well and good

I had never used an elk hair hopper before so I didn't know what to expect when I bought these. My brother said the quality is really well. Heading out this weekend to try them out.
