I used this recently (early October) on a slow drift on a slow river in Rhode Island after striking out with terrestrials and midges. No insects were showing and it was growing later and the light was failing. I tied this on, partly so I could see it, and let it ride under a hanging tree and bam! Ten minutes later and I was releasing a two (or so) pound Rainbow. I am a novice fly fisher and this made me feel like a real fisherman, at least for one day!

The caddis in a size 14-20 is a great choice for the BC area. I grew up fishing these streams and fly fish them almost every day that I am off work. I would also pick up Tan, and Black caddis. On tight small streams use a 5x tippet with a 6x fluorocarbon 20 to 22 bead head dropper and watch the magic happen. I fish stocked and native waters and catch mostly wild trout when fishing this system even when on stocked waters.
